Swim Instructor 

We are looking for responsible, energetic individuals who are seeking flexible hours in a fun, fast paced environment.  Swim Instructor requires professional and dependable individuals. If you are enthusiastic, love people and the water – this could be the perfect place for you. 

POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, high quality swim instructors that will follow our progressive aquatic  curriculum in a safe, enjoyable, and positive atmosphere. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members.
  2. Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes, as directed by supervisor, to accomplish the CSA mission and  goals
  3. Ensures participant safety during program by educating about, and enforcing safety rules and maintaining class  control. 
  4. Openly communicates with participants and their parents to support them in achieving their goals; appraises  students and their parents of strengths, accomplishments and areas for improvement/skill progression. 
  5. Builds effective, authentic relationships with members. 
  6. Keeps accurate class attendance and skill evaluation records. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  2. Must be at least 15 years of age and be able to swim; high school diploma and teaching experience preferred.
  3. American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, AED, and lifeguarding is a plus. 

SCHEDULING 

  1. Schedules are done on a monthly basis. 
  2. Availabilities are given for each month. Instructor is responsible for turning in their availability on time in order  to be put on the schedule 
  3. Shifts are 3-4 hours long.  
  4. Shifts range from 4pm-8pm Monday-Friday and Saturday Mornings 8:30am-12:30pm 
  5. Shifts are scheduled at both Carmel High School (520 East Main Street, Carmel IN) and Prime Life Enrichment  Center (1078 3rd Ave SW, Carmel IN) 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE 

  1. Year Round 
  2. Seasonal (school year or summer) 

PAY RANGE

  1. $9-$12 per hour 
  2. Pay is determined by experience and type of shift.  

Certified Lifeguards 

We are looking for responsible, energetic individuals who are seeking flexible hours in a fun, fast paced environment.  Life guarding requires professional and dependable individuals. If you are enthusiastic, love people and the water – this  could be the perfect place for you. Must be able to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Able to create a safe and  positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Carmel Swim Academy policies  and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs as a leader and role model for other staff members and patrons. 
  2. Shows up for work in the correct uniform on time and ready to work. 
  3. Knows and practices all emergency procedures and responds accordingly, which includes attending all staff  meetings and in-service trainings. 
  4. Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and other staff.
  5. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the aquatic area. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must be at least 15 years of age. 
  2. Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding.  
  3. American Red Cross Lifeguard or Equivalent. 
  4. Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness. 
  5. Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with ARC standards.

  4. Shifts range from 4:45am-9pm Sunday-Saturday 
  5. Shifts are scheduled at both Carmel High School (520 East Main Street, Carmel IN) and Prime Life Enrichment  Center (1078 3rd Ave SW, Carmel IN)
